NANCY QUINLAN

1950s photo of company owner as a child

It all started with this 2-inch photo.

Growing up, there was a big photo “drawer” in our house. Every so often, we’d haul it out + sit around the kitchen table – telling stories, laughing at each other’s hairstyles + bringing our family memories back to life.

I came across this simple 2-inch picture of me + one of my sisters [I’m on the right], taken in a coin-operated photo booth. Later I learned that my father carried it in his wallet for more than 30 years.

Certainly, my sister + I had grown + changed, so was this some kind of special memory for my Dad or a unique moment in time? I’ll never know the real reason he kept it, but it made me want to learn more about the power of shared memories, family stories + how the legacy of those who came before us has a profound impact on our lives.

After a 30-plus year career in government focused on public affairs, press relations + strategy development — it was time to start on a new journey.

I launched Scattered Pictures Photo Solutions to help families + businesses manage their photo overwhelm + honor their stories . . . I’d found my superpower.

Whether designing photo albums, video montages, slideshows, family photo websites, or organizing + scanning photos — there’s joy in helping others get their photos organized, safely preserved + easy to access.

Let’s get started!
